The OSSO Dataset
We released the body and skeleton alignments for 1200 males and 1200 females DXA sxans as a UK Biobank Dataset return. Here are some rendered meshes examples:Access
This dataset is accessed via the UK Biobank at this link.
To access the dataset, apply for access here ( ukbiobank.ac.uk/enable-your-re). List "Return field 2201; OSSO: Obtaining Skeletal Shape from Outside” ( biobank.ndph.ox.ac.uk/showcase/dset.). Note that UKBiobank requires a "Tier 3" membership to access “very large datasets” such as ours.
Content
This dataset contains pairs of skeleton and body meshes as well as the corresponding STAR body model parameters for 2400 subjects. These data have been derived using the dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans available in Field 20158 of UKBiobank. The data is structured as follow:
- The subdirectory `body` contains the body meshes of the subjects.
- The subdirectory `skeleton` contains the skeleton meshes of the subjects.
- The subdirectory `STAR_params` contains the parameters of the STAR body model.
Data loader and evaluation
We released code to load and display this data here: https://github.com/MarilynKeller/OSSOData. This code also let's you visualize and evaluate the overlap between the body mesh and the DXA scan.
